Reverend Tess C. Powell is a native of Savannah, Georgia.  She graduated from Sol C. Johnson High School, continued her education and graduated from Savannah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.  After graduating college, Rev. Powell became an air traffic controller and continues to enjoy a successful career.  Yet pursuing additional knowledge, years later, she attended and graduated from Faith Christian University & Schools (FCUS) with a Masters of Divinity degree in Christian Education on May 19, 2007.  Desiring to expand her biblical knowledge, Rev. Powell graduated from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Ministry on May 11, 2019.  She has taken several courses
with Washington Bible Institute.  Rev. Powell has taught courses for FCUS,  Moody Bible Institute, Workshops, Conferences, Sunday School, and Bible Study.
Rev. Powell accredits her passion for Christ to her mother, who was a Pentecostal Evangelist.  She accepted her called to  ministry and was licensed to preach on September 21, 2008.  She was ordained on June 27, 2010, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Herndon, Virginia.  Shortly afterwards, Rev. Powell was selected for a job promotion and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.  She joined Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Ministry, where she was an ordained Elder and actively involved in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, as a district administrator.  The Lord reminded Rev. Powell of the ministry that was placed in her spirit, many years earlier.  In 2004, the Lord gave her the title of the ministry she has since become the founder of, “Perfecting Community Full Gospel Baptist Ministry(PCFGBM)", which is registered under Perfecting Community Ministry.  The primary goal of PCFGBM is to empower, motivate, and educate believers and to share the Gospel of Christ with unbelievers and to illuminate ones divine purpose by developing "Community Change Agents".   As the founder of PCFGBM, Rev. Powell believes in empowering and rebuilding communities.
